Bang For Your Buck
When you’re travelling, you want to save your pennies where you can, so it’s worth taking the time to make sure you’re getting value for money.
Based off the key ways I found I was ‘wasting’ money or over spending, I’ve created a list of quick savers for you all.
Travel effectively: Try to map out your travel routes so that you aren’t backtracking over the same cities, or flying from one end of the world to the other and then back again
Know the conversion rates in advance so you don’t get overcharged
Where you can/want to, avoid the tourist hubs for cafes and restaurants. Dining at ‘local’ spots is a much cheaper alternative in most cases (and a better experience!)
Ask for prices before you commit. This counts for taxis, for getting a bag of laundry done… any services really
Be picky. If you aren’t an art gallery gal, don’t go pay 60 euros to go to a gallery you won’t enjoy. You don’t have to do everything when you’re travelling, you can cater it to what you actually want to do and know you’ll benefit from.
